Separate culture screening from contamination control

Understand how mycoplasma detection, elimination and incubator care fit together.

Separate culture screening from contamination control

Different tasks need different products

NutriCulture Mycoplasma Detection Kit is presented as a PCR-based screening product. Mycoplasma Elimination Kit is intended for treatment of contaminated cell cultures. 100x CellSAFE is described for incubator contamination control. Screening, treatment and environmental care are distinct parts of a laboratory workflow.

Choose the relevant branch of the workflow

For testing newly introduced or routinely maintained cultures, consult the Detection Kit protocol. Where treatment of an affected culture is appropriate under laboratory procedures, review the Elimination Kit instructions. The combined flyer introduces both products, but each product has a specific role and its own operating instructions.

Use incubator-care products as directed

The CellSAFE flyer describes its intended use in keeping incubators clear of undesired contamination. It does not replace a mycoplasma test or provide a test result for a culture. Keep environmental maintenance records separate from sample screening records.

Document the outcome

Record the culture identity, product used, dates and screening results according to laboratory procedures. Use the current product documentation for preparation, application and any follow-up requirements. The flyers below provide an overview of where each product fits.
